purchased two Groupon promotions for my niece and daughter at this salon, hoping they would have a nice experience and feel pampered for a special event. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing from the moment we arrived. On the day of the appointment, the owner immediately tried to upcharge us for services that were already listed within the Groupon promotion. Even though we were still willing to pay additional fees just to get the services done, her attitude and behavior quickly became nasty, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. She refused to properly explain why she suddenly could not honor the Groupon promotion and kept shutting down any attempt at conversation. At first, she was willing to provide the services with the added charges, but the moment we questioned the pricing and pushed back, her entire demeanor changed. She abruptly stated, “No, I can’t do it. Today is not a good time,” without any real explanation or effort to resolve the situation. Keep in mind, she was dealing with two young girls, ages 18 and 20, who simply wanted to get their hair done and feel beautiful for their event. Instead, they were made to feel uncomfortable, dismissed, and unwelcome. While no direct racist comments were made, her tone, body language, and overall treatment toward us felt discriminatory and deeply upsetting. It honestly felt like we were being judged and stereotyped for using a Groupon promotion instead of paying full price out of pocket. In today’s economy, where people have so many options for where they choose to spend their money, there is absolutely no excuse for treating customers this way. Respect and professionalism should apply to every customer, regardless of whether they are using a promotion or paying full price. I will never return to this establishment and would not recommend it to anyone looking for a welcoming or professional experience.
